Overview
The RJ Weston Duffield Charity is looking to appoint a new Treasurer.
We are at an exciting point in our development and seek interested people with energy and time to dedicate to helping us achieve our ambitious aims and secure excellence for the future.
Our charitable object is ‘to relieve the charitable needs of older persons in Duffield and the surrounding area, in particular by the provision of a day centre’. The Weston Centre, located on Tamworth Street, is run by our part-time employee, whose position is as the Weston Centre Manager. Our activities include the following: Monday lunch club; daily coffee mornings; Film Clubs and a ‘Memory Café’, as well as a minibus. We are currently establishing the Duffield ‘Helping Hands’ project, which includes a drop-in hub and to be more digitally prominent, and at the same time the hall is also hired out to several other local groups.
The crucial role of the Treasurer is to provide financial leadership, as well as to challenge and assure the Trustee Board on their decisions. Additionally, the role oversees and produces the relevant statutory filings, other governance functions and financial accounting for the Charity. Ideally you will have an Accountancy based background, but this is not essential.
This is an excellent opportunity to share and use skills you already have as well as developing new ones. You would be joining a dedicated and supportive team. The closing date for applications is midday on Wednesday 7th February.
For further information and an application form please contact Emma Morrison by emailing emma.wcm@westoncentre.org.uk.
