Overview
Based in our Visitor Centre, you would welcome visitors to the windmill. You would provide visitors with initial information about the windmill and the guided tour offered. The role also involves selling tour tickets and escorting visitors to the start point of the tour. The Visitor Centre includes a small shop where you would be selling flour, hot & cold drinks, ice creams and a selection of gifts. The Visitor Centre is usually run by two volunteers. Further duties include setting up at the beginning of the day, taking cash and card payments, completing a daily trading sheet and ensuring the Visitor Centre is clean and tidy ready for the next opening. We have an online signing up system allowing you to choose how often you wish to attend. Most of our volunteers choose to attend one day each weekend and half days are available. Please note that we are open from 1st April until 31st October, weekends and Bank Holiday Mondays only. There are occasional half-day mid-week openings which are covered by the team.
