Overview
We recognise that social Isolation can occur for a variety of reasons. We place volunteers with individuals that are suited to each other as close as is possible. You go along for 1-2 hours once per week, to provide only companionship, conversation, and support.
**Befriending: A Simple Act with a Powerful Impact**
The World Health Organization highlights that social connection is essential for our health and well-being—just like food, water, and shelter. Befriending, whether through a home visit or a regular phone call, offers a lifeline to those who feel isolated. It’s more than just a chat; it’s a reminder that someone cares. For individuals facing long-term illness, grief, or life changes, a befriender can be the bridge back to feeling seen, heard, and valued. One conversation at a time, befriending helps rebuild the human connections we all need to thrive.
