Overview

Volunteers keep volunteer and visiting parents register, which record attendance  and times of arrival and departure. You need to be able to listen to children or adults who may be under stress, without judging, advising, or taking sides. Volunteers can help the first meeting between child and parent go smoothly, if necessary and can listen sympathetically without offering opinions or advice.

The centre sessions are held alternate Saturday’s 10.00am until 12.00pm. The Centre also offers a handover service, which means that the adult delivering the child does not have to meet the visiting adult.

Volunteers are between 18 -75 which is great for the varying ages of the families that use the service, and every volunteer has an enhanced DBS (Police) check. They also receive regular recorded training sessions throughout the year.

There is on going training and  support throughout your time with us.
