Overview

1st Belper Scout Group are looking for one or more adults who already trained or would like to train as Assistant Cub Leaders.

Cub Scouts are young people aged between 8 and 10 1/2 (roughly school years 4-6) who make up the second section of the Scouting family, between Beavers and Scouts.

Assistant Cub Leaders would be expected to attend weekly meetings during term-time and help support the Cub Leader plan and run sessions at our Scout hut in Belper, the beautiful nearby countryside, and the county Scout camp Drum Hill which is conveniently just 5 miles from Belper.

Many assistant leaders start off as Occasional Helpers or Sectional Assistants so please see our vacancies for these roles if you’re not sure about what level of commitment you can manage.

Scouts is one of the most recognised international organisations for young people and each week helps almost half a million people age 4-25 in the UK develop skills for life.

Derbyshire is one of the most active Counties for Scouting with Belper one of the most active Districts, so we guarantee you won’t be bored!

More information about volunteering with Beavers, Cubs and Scouts can be seen at https://www.scouts.org.uk/volunteer/volunteering-with-scouts/
