Overview

Your skills and experience could make a real difference to the lives of families in Derbyshire.
At Family Support Derbyshire, our aim is to support families when they need us most. By volunteering with us, you can transform the lives of young children and their parents. Our trained volunteers come from a range of cultures and backgrounds and visit families in their own homes. We provide compassionate, non-judgmental support and practical help and strive to build confidence and self-esteem, improving family’s lifestyles whilst encouraging engagement and reducing social exclusion.
In return we provide training, guidance and support for you to be effective and make a real difference, whilst also giving you the opportunity to meet new people, enhance your well-being and develop a range of transferable skills.
The only requirement to be a volunteer is to have parenting experience. As part of your training, you will need to complete a DBS check and provide references. If successful in this appointment process we use your individual skills and experience to match you with a suitable family to support.
Family Support Derbyshire cover Derby City, South Derbyshire and Amber Valley.
