Fundraiser Welcome ~ Voluntary Position at Carsington SAILABILITY
Carsington Sailability, based on Carsington Water near Ashbourne, Derbyshire, is a small Charity with no paid staff but a mission to take children and adults with disabilities sailing and boating on our beautiful reservoir in Derbyshire. We have variously 25 ~ 30 volunteers and draw customers from all the surrounding counties. Sailability is a long-standing member of the Royal Yachting Club which helps guide strategy and governance.
Covid 19 has hit our Volunteers and our funding hard but we have managed to provide a full service throughout the pandemic when allowed. We need real help, we need your professional help, please, to move us forward for the next phase of our Club’s development. As an assist we now have full Charitable status through the Charity Commission which will help in your fundraising endeavours albeit with appropriate Commission audit and overseeing. We sail in an East Midlands area which is rich and diverse in innovation from small/medium local enterprises to major companies such as Rolls Royce, JCB, Alstom, Toyota, Boots, East Midlands Co-Operatives, and so on.
The role will entail renewing old contacts and making new ones, presenting watertight cases for donations as to why we are a truly deserving cause. Garnering publicity to raise our awareness is a key objective to ensure an increase in funds and a steady flow inwards for revenues.
There is no remuneration for this role which may be done mostly from home but attendance and meeting with the small number of Trustees at the Sailing Club will be required say 7-8 times each year. Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees.
