ABOUT THIS VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY
Occasional helpers would be expected to help at least once every half-term, so about once every two months and six times a year.

If you want to do more, that’s great and we have roles for section assistants, assistant leaders as well as more administrative roles on the committee if you want to help but would prefer not to work directly with young people.

WHAT ARE 1ST BELPER SCOUT GROUP LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic occasional helpers to help us run Beavers, Cubs and Scout meetings both at our headquarters in Belper, the beautiful nearby countryside, and the county Scout camp Drum Hill which is conveniently just 5 miles from Belper.

Scouts is one of the most recognised international organisations for young people and each week helps almost half a million people age 4-25 in the UK develop skills for life.

Derbyshire is one of the most active Counties for Scouting with Belper one of the most active Districts, so we guarantee you won’t be bored!

PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS
This opportunity would be suitable for adults wanting to gain experience working with young people outside of a school setting.

About 1st Belper Scout Group

1st Belper is an active Scout group based in Belper, Derbyshire with over 50 young people in our Beaver, Cub and Scout sections and around 20 adult helpers.

We meet at our dedicated headquarters and outdoor locations every week during school terms, and run many camps and other activities throughout the year.
